About the series
A workshop where PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in applied microeconomics present their work to an audience of their peers and of senior researchers, have fun, and leave with something useful to do next.
This workshop is built around maximizing useful interactions: every presentation is assigned a discussant so that each paper receives constructive feedback from senior researchers and peers. The presentations are complemented by a poster session, with easygoing discussions and networking.
The series is hosted at the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC Lausanne), on the shore of Lac Léman, and is open to applied economists in different fields — labour, public, political economy, development, health, education, and the economics of firms and innovation among them.

Incentives, Institutions, and Innovation
The 2027 edition is organised around three interconnected themes, with keynote lectures by Frédéric Docquier (LISER) and Guido Friebel (Goethe University Frankfurt). The call for papers is open until 26 October 2026.
